Writing as a Conscious Practice by Tina Neyer

The very act of writing engages more than just the brain. Muscle memory to hold a pen, to poise fingers over a keyboard (pointing fingers on ‘F’ and ‘J’). It may appear to be an uninvolved activity but in reality, we engage fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, memory, and storytelling in the practice of writing. But beyond that, writing changes the person who practices it on a regular basis in ways that are not tangible.
